XIAP gene therapy is unique madi-in-Canada therapy for retinal disease. Developed by Dr. Catherine Tsilfidis and her colleagues at the University of Ottawa and the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, the treatment aims to slow cell death in the retina and preserve vision. Promising findings show that the therapy can potentially halt cell death in many conditions including retinitis pigmentosa and retinal detachment, preventing further vision loss.
